Leadership Breakfast at Business Expo Features
Speakers for "Disabilities and Employment"

New Haven, CT - The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce's Business Expo will present "Disabilities and Employment" at its Leadership Breakfast Reception, held at the GNHCC Business Expo on November 18, 2009, from 8:30-10 a.m., at the Chevrolet Theatre, Wallingford, CT. Featured speakers are Beau Doherty, Jr., President of Special Olympics of Connecticut, Inc., and disabilities advocate/motivational speaker Sean Stephenson.

Both Mr. Doherty and Mr. Stephenson are well known for their work as advocates for individuals with disabilities, people who in good economic times and bad, have fewer job opportunities than the general population.

The speakers will address business leaders on an awareness of employees with disabilities and the benefits of an inclusive and flexible work culture. The event is made possible by the Connectability New Haven grant led by The City of New Haven's Department of Services for Persons with Disabilities. The breakfast is sponsored by Albertus Magnus College.

Robert "Beau" Doherty, Jr. has devoted his career to integrating intellectually disabled people into mainstream sports competition at all levels, and throughout the world.

Expected to die at birth, Sean Stephenson has faced an army of reasons to give up and countless opportunities to embrace pity. He suffered more than 200 bone fractures by age 18, reached a height of only 3 feet, and is permanently confined to a wheelchair. However, this man took a stand for a quality of life that has inspired millions of people around the world, including Tony Robbins, Oprah and President Clinton.

The event is free to all Expo attendees and includes breakfast. To register or for more information, visit www.gnhccexpo.com or contact Sue Rapini at the GNHCC at srapini@gnhcc.com or 203-782-4317.
